Now that I'm working full-time as a young adult librarian I haven't been posting nearly as much, but I wanted to at least do my end of the year lists! 1) Ms. Marvel: Generation Why by G. Willow Wilson I love this comic series overall, but this one so clearly nails a lot of the things I've heard from teens recently. Their annoyance at older generations misjudging and underestimating them, their ability to come together despite differences, and their genuine desire to make their worlds a better place. Kamala Khan is just a fabulous protagonist overall, relatably trying to juggle her friends, family, faith, education, and, oh yeah, newfound superpowers. Plus, the cameos. The cameos. So many familiar faces from the Marvel universe have appeared, which is especially fun because Kamala is such an unabashed fangirl. I really can't praise this series highly enough- just go check it out for yourself. 2) Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson Sensing a theme? 2015 was a huge year for ...

My Review
I loved this final instalment in the Foolish Games trilogy and it had me all bubbly with excitement the whole way through!
You would think, with a title like The Wedding Blitz that it would be all happily ever afters, but this is one seriously bumpy road that had me on the edge of my very seat - I was even starting to despair in places!
Poor Joie, nothing ever runs smoothly for her. Hawkins' mother is like the mother-in-law from hell, who had it in for her from the off. It isn't all doom and gloom though, the 3 best-friends have the time of their lives planning the wedding - I say 3, it was Riley who planed every fabulous detail.
I got so emotional in places, sniffing and sniveling one moment and laughing like an idiot in others. I loved each high and low throughout the whole story.
I always adore Joie, Riley and Lizzie's bond, it's so strong and it is very easy to see that the threesome will be lifelong friends. They've always got each others backs and it's a beautiful friendship to witness.
I'm not going to say anything about the storyline really because I would hate to ruin any little detail for anyone.
I think Leah and Meg really pulled it out of the bag for this fantastic final instalment. I'm always going to be interested in anything these 2 gals write.
The Wedding Blitz is a gorgeous finale to a brilliant trilogy. There are so many twisty turns that I never knew what was going to go wrong next. I loved how everything came together to go out on another big shocking bang!
I just have to mention the little baby book that Joie and Hawkins' wrote in for their unborn baby, they had me tearing up - but it was a truly stunning touch to the end of the book!
4.5 / 5 Stars
